Vredehoek

From top to bottom:

1) map looking north

2) pic looking south - red dot was already on pic and you can see the three tower blocks at the foot of Devil's peak which was a pine forest where we used to collect dennepits

3) map looking north - if you enlarge it, you will see  how close Oranjezicht and Vredehoek are

4) map of Vredehoek - you can see the shadow of Table Mountain and the beginning of the slope of Devil's Peak in bottom right corner

5) looking up Vredehoek Avenue towards our apartment building on Ludlow Street - you can see two of the three tower blocks

6) our flat was on the top left of the building on left - my best friend Steven Spiller lived in the bottom left flat in the building on the right

7) if you enlarge the map of Vredehoek you will see that the orphanage, Nazareth House, was opposite our flats - it is much more built up now and has a hospice and long-term senior housing

8) looking up Vredehoek Avenue - the entrance to Vredehoek Primary School is on the left

9) Vredehoek Primary School from the playing fields - it is now Seminary Junior School

10) The three tower blocks

I wish you would post every so often at Born Again Redneck, if only to let us know you're OK.
